WELCOME TO THE SECONDARY

LUNCH PROGRAM

Every student in the building will use an ID number that will allow him or her to access their own food service account.  If they want to use their account, they will punch in their ID number on the keypads located by each register.  Students must have money in their account in order to use it.  Please be sure to send money with your student on the first day of school.  You will also need to pay all outstanding balances from your student’s elementary account before they can use their account at the secondary level.  Money can be placed in their account at any time and for any amount.  We recommend that you keep at least $5.00 in your student’s account.  Money for deposit should be in an envelope with the student’s first and last name and the amount enclosed.  The envelope is to be dropped in the mail slot located on the kitchen door in the cafeteria.  We will then put the money in your student’s account and they are ready to go.  Your student can pay for their purchase everyday with cash if you wish and checks for more than the purchase amount will be deposited in your student’s account. Checks can be made out to the Jenison/Hudsonville School Food Service.  Students can not cash checks through food service.  If you wish to restrict a particular activity on your student’s account, you must notify the food service department in writing and be specific about the restriction.  We do have a purchase record available for each student so that you can verify how the money in your student’s account was spent.  You must also request this information in writing.  Students may use the money in their account to purchase any item in the cafeteria including the snack window.  The account is not a charge account and no credit will be given.

Students who qualify for free or reduced meals will use their ID number for their lunch.  Reduced lunches are $.40 per lunch and this money needs to be in their account.  If your student wants to purchase additional items, they will need to have money in their hand or in their account.  A reminder that a new Free/Reduced lunch application needs to be filled out each year.
